The Heidelberg Project – one of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks – is an outdoor installation serving to improve the lives of people through art. To open this rich experience to the rest of the world, we used React Native and Firebase to create an app that guides users through a unique tour of the site leveraging virtual reality, 3D capture and GPS technology.

The app provides background information on each art installation, including the original inspiration and construction details. As The Heidelberg Project evolves, the app will reflect the changes and act as a historic record for the retired artwork.
